- Roman Banias is a Managing Director and Head of Financial Security at BNP Paribas London Branch, where Roman also serves as SMF17. With more than 20 years of experience in banking and financial crime compliance, Roman has held a range of senior leadership positions across banking institutions in Ukraine, France, and the United Kingdom. Throughout this career, Roman has developed deep expertise in designing, implementing, and enhancing financial crime compliance frameworks, including anti-money laundering, sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption, and broader financial crime compliance programmes. Roman has extensive experience in building and leading compliance functions, conducting enterprise-wide financial crime risk assessments, and driving the development of risk management and control frameworks across complex international organisations.
