Mr. Kristian Perks currently serves as the Director of Financial Crimes & Product Development at Thomson Reuters Special Services (TRSS), where he oversees the management, operations, and strategic direction of commercial financial crimes solutions. Since joining TRSS in 2023, Kristian has leveraged his extensive expertise to drive the company’s commercial initiatives forward. Prior to TRSS, Kristian was instrumental in developing research theories on cross-cultural usability and led user-centered design projects for both Fortune 500 companies and innovative start-ups. His career within financial institutions includes roles focused on data governance, model risk, program risk analysis, enterprise screening, and digital asset programs. A recognized leader in financial crimes compliance, Kristian focuses on emerging applications, digital infrastructure, and evolving trends, while also evaluating the associated risks and controls. Beyond his professional work, he has made significant contributions to non-profit organizations by designing software aimed at combating human trafficking and child exploitation. Kristian is based in Charleston, South Carolina, and is an honors graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
